return to our casual acceptance of racist rhetoric. Take the recent
controversy over the KQRS "Morning Show". The June 9th broadcast, where
the show's hosts reacted to the tragic murder of a newborn with
derisive sneering at the Hmong community and culture, did not offend
every Minnesotan. It probably did not even offend every Hmong
Minnesotan. But it certainly did not promote understanding and respect.
Host Tom Barnard was fostering simplistic stereotypes and racial
resentment.
As the KQRS controversy grows, many Minnesotans have expressed their
disgust at the station's irresponsible behavior, and its stubborn
refusal to apologize. A growing number of corporate sponsors have
chosen to pull advertising from the station.
The Morning Show hosts delude themselves into thinking that building
racial resentment is ok, as long as they offend others too. Tom
Barnard's hate-filled and offensive remarks about Carl Pohlad during
the stadium debate last year were equally unacceptable, not a
justification for his verbal assaults on people from other cultures.
Like Earl Butz, Tom Barnard has a constitutional right to use crude

program is a popular local version of the sort of "outrageous" morning
radio Howard Stern pioneered back in the '80's. Barnard won a
much-publicized ratings battle with Stern some time back. The format,
tone and content of Barnard's program seem to owe a lot to Stern's
"good taste".
According to Barnard, Bachmann had called in the day before her
appearance trying to get on the show, but had missed him. So, on
Thursday, May 12, Barnard asked her to call in again. Prior to
Bachmann's guest appearance, Barnard went into a funny radio "bit:
---the sort of material typically associated with this kind of program.
This bit was about "first date" tips from Maxim Magazine: "In a woman's
mind the main purpose of a first date with you is to figure out why you
are not coitus-worthy." Barnard added: "And that's kind of weak because
you may like her or may wish to fornicate with her..." This was

Conclusion: I think I would rather hang out with some Minnesotans,

Hip Hop is Evil. Death Metal... not so much

Tom declares ALL rappers are Gangsters. According to Tom, Hip Hop
culture is the worst thing to happen to America. I certainly admit that
some but not ALL of Rap glorifies thug culture, pimping and other
undesirable elements. However, for Barnyard this is simply another
excuse to bash African Americans. If Barnard was genuinely concerned
about the well-being of blacks, we would hear something against Death
Metal. We would hear somethign about the drug culture of the classic
rock in the 60's and 70's that is played a THOUSAND times on Barnard's
station. The subject matter of death metal is just as bad as hip hop if
not worse. (It can't get worse than glorifying death right?) We never
hear about Death Metal or the violence in Heavy Metal such as
Metallica's "Kill 'em All". If Tom Barnyard is not racist, why the
double standard? I think the prejudicial treatment of these two genres
and the general demographic makeup of their respective creators is
conveniently coincidental.

KQ savages giggle at Duante Culpepper's Injury
Tom Barnard HATES both Dennis Green (black) and Duante Culpepper
(black). He calls Denny the worst coach in the history of sports which

was not the worst coach in VIKING history let alone sports history. The
worst coach in Viking history was Les Steckel (white) going 3-13 in
1984. Don't think for a minute that this KQRSMS poison is anything
other than racism disguised as "sports commentary". In the past, Tom
has taken his idol Rush Limbaugh's line that NFC Conference
Championship regular Donovan McNabb is forced-fed to the audience
because he is black. Yup, it has nothing to do with his stats, wins,
playoffs, performance and all that other unimportant stuff.... He also
has an irrational dislike of Michael Vick (black). Apparently, all
three quarterbacks lack intelligence. Stereotype sound familiar???
Dennis Green, although not perfect, brought the Vikings to two NFC
Conference Championships. He has as many superbowl wins as Tom
Barnard's hero Bud Grant (white). Jerry Burns (white) also didn't fare
any better than Denny and had one less NFC Conference Championshiop
game than Denny. Even Mike Tice is blamed on Denny Green "legacy".
(Three years removed from the franchise). The draft of McKinnie was
blamed on Dennis Green. Denny wasn't even part of the organization at
that time. He was drafted two rounds late by Tice. But hey, who cares
about FACTS? I don't want to rip on these other coaches. They were all
decent coaches with the exception of Les Steckel. However, I do want to
make a comparative analysis to expose Barnard's racist bias.

Paul McCartney call for a date?" This passes as humor for these
animals. Even the most die hard fans of the opposing team cheer an

By the way, There was an immediate disclaimer about previous savior

come Duante did not recieve this preferential treatment? Brad Johnson
is a classy guy and I don't know why he is mixed up with this toxic
radio show. Brad is an honorable persona and I hope he distances
himself from fatlard now that he is the starter. I hope Duante recovers
fully and comes back to win a superbowl just so he can spit on KQRSMS.

and self-proclaimed cultured people. These guys proudly wear KQRS
shirts that declare "I have to poop". (I wish I was making this up).
Along with ripped jeans, deer-hunting orange camaflouge jackets,
polaris snowmobile jackets and Motley Crue t-shirts, their wardrobe
boasts a shirt that informs the reader with the following words of
wisdom: "Immigrants Learn to speak 'American' or get out". Do these
guys really see that many immigrants at their workplaces such as the
snowmobile repair shop, muffler and brake shops etc.? These guys can
barely formulate a sentence, let alone lecture others on the English
language. They're mastery of English equates to knowledge of 50 slang
synonyms for genitals, races, countries or cultures. For example, The
French are "surrender monkeys" and apparently Arabs are towel-heads
(They don't wear turbans - The Sikhs and Afghans do). These guys demand
assimilation from the immigrants living in this country. Thankfully,
the state''s immigrants have resisted plastic testicles and t-shirts
advertising their digestive issues.
Any mention of genetalia and these guys get all giddy with KQRSMS'

have ownership of them since he always talks about never backing down

Beside it is a picture of an American beauty contestant, wearing
nothing but a bikini. One woman is totally hidden from the public; the

clash of so-called "civilizations."
The role of woman is at the heart of any culture. Apart from stealing
Arab oil, the impending war in the Middle East is about stripping Arabs
of their religion and culture, exchanging the burka for a bikini. I am
not an expert on the condition of Muslim women and I love feminine
beauty too much to advocate the burka here. But I am defending some of
the values that the burka represents for me. For me, the burka
represents a woman's consecration to her husband and family. Only they
see her. It affirms the privacy, exclusivity and importance of the
domestic sphere. The Muslim woman's focus is her home, the "nest" where
her children are born and reared. She is the "home" maker, the taproot
that sustains the spiritual life of the family, nurturing and training
her children, providing refuge and support to her husband. In contrast,
the bikinied American beauty queen struts practically naked in front of
millions on TV. A feminist, she belongs to herself. In practice,
paradoxically, she is public property. She belongs to no one and
everyone. She shops her body to the highest bidder. She is auctioning
herself all of the time.In America, the cultural measure of a woman's
value is her sex appeal. (As this asset depreciates quickly, she is
neurotically obsessed with appearance and plagued by weight problems.)
As an adolescent, her role model is Britney Spears, a singer whose act
approximates a strip tease. From Britney, she learns that she will be
loved only if she gives sex. Thus, she learns to "hook up" rather than
to demand patient courtship and true love. As a result, dozens of males
know her before her husband does. She loses her innocence, which is a
part of her charm. She becomes hardened and calculating. Unable to
love, she is unfit to receive her husband's seed.
The feminine personality is founded on the emotional relationship
between mother and baby. It is based on nurturing and self-sacrifice.
Masculine nature is founded on the relationship between hunter and
prey. It is based on aggression and reason. Feminism teaches woman that
feminine nature has resulted in "oppression" and that she should
convert to male behavior instead. The result: a confused and aggressive
woman with a large chip on her shoulder, unfit to become a wife or
mother. This, of course, is the goal of the social engineers at the

Don't you think there is something terribly wrong when covering
yourself in modesty is illegal and nudity with animals not just
acceptable but paid entertainment. I don't think this is what the
women's suffrage movement had in mind for women's liberation.

On my wall, I have a picture of a Muslim woman shrouded in a burka.
Beside it is a picture of an American beauty contestant, wearing
nothing but a bikini. One woman is totally hidden from the public; the
other is totally exposed. These two extremes say a great deal about the
clash of so-called "civilizations."
The role of woman is at the heart of any culture. Apart from stealing
Arab oil, the impending war in the Middle East is about stripping Arabs
of their religion and culture, exchanging the burka for a bikini. I am
not an expert on the condition of Muslim women and I love feminine
beauty too much to advocate the burka here. But I am defending some of
the values that the burka represents for me. For me, the burka
represents a woman's consecration to her husband and family. Only they
see her. It affirms the privacy, exclusivity and importance of the
domestic sphere. The Muslim woman's focus is her home, the "nest" where
her children are born and reared. She is the "home" maker, the taproot
that sustains the spiritual life of the family, nurturing and training
her children, providing refuge and support to her husband. In contrast,
the bikinied American beauty queen struts practically naked in front of
millions on TV. A feminist, she belongs to herself. In practice,
paradoxically, she is public property. She belongs to no one and
everyone. She shops her body to the highest bidder. She is auctioning
herself all of the time.In America, the cultural measure of a woman's
value is her sex appeal. (As this asset depreciates quickly, she is
neurotically obsessed with appearance and plagued by weight problems.)
As an adolescent, her role model is Britney Spears, a singer whose act
approximates a strip tease. From Britney, she learns that she will be
loved only if she gives sex. Thus, she learns to "hook up" rather than
to demand patient courtship and true love. As a result, dozens of males
know her before her husband does. She loses her innocence, which is a
part of her charm. She becomes hardened and calculating. Unable to
love, she is unfit to receive her husband's seed.
The feminine personality is founded on the emotional relationship
between mother and baby. It is based on nurturing and self-sacrifice.
Masculine nature is founded on the relationship between hunter and
prey. It is based on aggression and reason. Feminism teaches woman that
feminine nature has resulted in "oppression" and that she should
convert to male behavior instead. The result: a confused and aggressive
woman with a large chip on her shoulder, unfit to become a wife or
mother. This, of course, is the goal of the social engineers at the
NWO: undermine sexual identity and destroy the family, create social
and personal dysfunction, and reduce population.

In the "brave new world," women are not supposed to be nest makers, or

creatures that indulge in sex for physical pleasure, not for love or

human development. It is the stage when we finally graduate from
self-indulgence and become God's surrogates: creating and nurturing new
life. The New World Order does not want us to reach this level of
maturity. Pornography is the replacement for marriage. We are to remain
stunted: single, sex-starved and self-obsessed. We are not meant to
have a permanent "private" life. We are to remain lonely and isolated,
dependent on consumer products for our identity, in a state of
perpetual courtship. This is especially destructive for woman. Her
sexual attraction is a function of her fertility. As fertility
declines, so does her sex appeal. If a woman devotes her prime years to
becoming "independent," she is not likely to find a permanent mate. Her
long-term personal fulfillment and happiness lies in making marriage
and family her first priority. Feminism is another cruel New World
Order hoax that has debauched American women and despoiled Western
civilization. It has ruined millions of lives and represents a lethal
threat to Islam.
I am not advocating the burka but rather some of the values that it
represents, specifically a woman's consecration to her future husband
and family, and the modesty and dignity this entails.
The burka and the bikini represent two extremes. The answer lies

government, national level of economic, political policy like England
and the United States etc. But this is history, let's talk about this
Tom's logic regarding Arabic names...

and history annihilated, why can't the African Americans keep Muslim

fisherman who lived along the Niger River of West Africa. After

Because I wouldn't give that to him, he's been attacking me ever
since," the paper quoted Ventura.
"He claims I'm a back-stabber and I never was a friend because no one
would do that to a friend. The point is: This isn't friendship; this is
business. . . . I can't pick and choose the media like that. It would
be completely unfair."

Barnard's comments came to mind over the weekend, and I wondered to
myself
how he could even look himself in the mirror after what happened
Friday. One
would think at least a little sorrow or a faint glimmer of a genuine
apology
might have been in order.
But Tom Barnard beats to a different drummer, and Monday morning saw
little
change in his pugnacious demeanor. A couple call-ins attempted to bring
up
the death wish comment and Barnard would suddenly say "oops...we lost
'em"
when it got to the point where the comment would likely have been
mentioned
on the air by the caller.
Time and again, one has to wonder how much longer we will have to put
up with
this man's anti-minority, anti-Democrat, anti-gay, anti-anyt
hing-Tom-doesn't-like rants on the KQ Morning Show. While we say YES to
freedom of speech, we must say NO to a lack of civilized decency,
common
courtesy and basic respect for other human beings!

Hmongs are often a favorite target of KQRSMS
Despite hardships, the Hmong are irrevocably changing the face of Minnesota.
Twenty-five percent of children in the St. Paul School District are Hmong. Some Twin Cities' factories have assembly lines that are up to one-third Hmong. Dozens of Hmong have enrolled at the University of Minnesota; several have earned Ph.D.'s. The state Legislature is appointing citizen organizations to help the Hmong thrive in their new home. The first Hmong elected
official in the United States sits on a Minnesota school board.
The Hmong are also fighting against racism and discrimination. After Barnard's radio comments, community leaders organized. They marched, protested, demanded an apology.
The next week, some of Minnesota's biggest corporations -- Perkins Family Restaurants, U.S. West, Kinko's, Prudential and the mammoth Mall of America --pulled their advertising from Barnard's station, KQRS.
KQRS executives tried to rectify things -- without a public apology. Barnard was not fired, but the station offered to donate money for Hmong college scholarships and to air $150,000 worth of Hmong-community public service announcements.
Hmong leaders said no. Say the word "sorry" or lose more advertising dollars.
On Nov. 5, two days after former pro wrestler Jesse Ventura stunned the nation by becoming Minnesota's governor, the radio station caved.
"KQRS and the morning show staff recognize that comments made on our June 9,
1998, broadcast were insensitive to the Hmong community," Mark Steinmetz, ABC Radio Group president, said on the air. "We apologize for these comments."
Many white locals never understood the uproar. As Campian said, "What did Barnard say that was so bad?"
But for the Hmong, the day someone publicly dared them to assimilate or get out
was a defining moment. "The Hmong experience in Minnesota really is the melding of two
cultures," Yang said. "It has not been seamless and no one would have expected it to
be. But the good news is the Hmong demanded respect and change after Barnard's comments, and that gives our people great hope."
In a local newspaper, a Hmong student at the University of Minnesota described
being treated as "a parasite" by locals. Others spoke of growing up in white
middle America and regularly hearing elementary classmates call them "gook" or
"slant-eyes."
"I grew up in Wisconsin, and every time I heard one of those names it did
something to me," Yang said. "People threw rocks at our windows. People yelled
on the street. It was very painful. Ask yourself: What does that do to a child?"

Last fall, another 13-year-old Hmong girl made the newspapers. This time she
was the victim. The headlines screamed: "More deaths stun Minnesota Hmong
community: White teens held."
According to a Hennepin County police report, sixth-grader Pa Nhia Lor had met
three young men, Michael S. Medin, 18, Shea C. Holt, 17, and Johnnie L. Rhodes,
17. In a suburban park, the girl was raped, beaten and stabbed. The
girl was then carried to a nearby garage, where she was slowly asphyxiated to
death ,police say. "You look at something like that, and it is hard to not think that it
was a hate crime that was committed against a little girl simply because she
was Hmong," said Ilean Her. "Many people in the Hmong community say that.
They say, `Why else would they hurt her so, torture her so badly, if they did not
hate her for some reason?'

On Nov. 5, two days after former pro wrestler Jesse Ventura stunned the nation by becoming Minnesota's governor, the radio station caved.
"KQRS and the morning show staff recognize that comments made on our June 9,
1998, broadcast were insensitive to the Hmong community," Mark Steinmetz, ABC Radio Group president, said on the air. "We apologize for these comments."
Many white locals never understood the uproar. As Campian said, "What did Barnard say that was so bad?"
But for the Hmong, the day someone publicly dared them to assimilate or get out
was a defining moment. "The Hmong experience in Minnesota really is the melding of two
cultures," Yang said. "It has not been seamless and no one would have expected it to
be. But the good news is the Hmong demanded respect and change after Barnard's comments, and that gives our people great hope."
In a local newspaper, a Hmong student at the University of Minnesota described
being treated as "a parasite" by locals. Others spoke of growing up in white
middle America and regularly hearing elementary classmates call them "gook" or
"slant-eyes."
"I grew up in Wisconsin, and every time I heard one of those names it did
something to me," Yang said. "People threw rocks at our windows. People yelled
on the street. It was very painful. Ask yourself: What does that do to a child?"

Last fall, another 13-year-old Hmong girl made the newspapers. This time she
was the victim. The headlines screamed: "More deaths stun Minnesota Hmong
community: White teens held."
According to a Hennepin County police report, sixth-grader Pa Nhia Lor had met
three young men, Michael S. Medin, 18, Shea C. Holt, 17, and Johnnie L. Rhodes,
17. In a suburban park, the girl was raped, beaten and stabbed. The
girl was then carried to a nearby garage, where she was slowly asphyxiated to
death ,police say. "You look at something like that, and it is hard to not think that it
was a hate crime that was committed against a little girl simply because she
was Hmong," said Ilean Her. "Many people in the Hmong community say that.
They say, `Why else would they hurt her so, torture her so badly, if they did not
hate her for some reason?'

Tom's credentials include admitted drug use, dropping out of high school, voice-overs, and receiving welfare (a very sensitive subject matter on kq). Barnard makes a good living out of broadcasting the tired old themes of bashing blacks, Hmong, Somalis, and Arabs etc. Tom is just another angry radio personality with no credentials and/or qualifications.
Let's take his ignorant comment of referring to the practices of non-Caucasian immigrants as "Garbage Cultures". In particular, the head-priest of KQ is not impressed with Muslims, Arabs, Africans & Asians. Barnard might want to rethink his conclusions. He really should re-evaluate his "in-depth" research of other cultures by getting a high school diploma followed by reading a book. Throughout history, Europe along with the rest of the world has contributed to great
civilizations. The contribution of Muslims/Arabs to western civilization during the European "dark" ages were critical in triggering the rennaissance. The "garbage" region of Africa can proudly claim one the world's first superpowers in ancient Egypt. The illustrious history of China and Persia can only be dismissed by an ignoranamus like Tom Barnard. European culture has no doubt made tremendous contributions to the world but Barnyard can't dismiss the contributions of others as garbage.
