Tom Barnard and Wellstone

Tom Barnard has certainly not dampened his hateful, spiteful, negative
rhetoric in the aftermath of the Wellstone tragedy. The recollection of
Barnard's comments came to mind over the weekend, and I wondered to
myself
how he could even look himself in the mirror after what happened
Friday. One
would think at least a little sorrow or a faint glimmer of a genuine
apology
might have been in order.

But Tom Barnard beats to a different drummer, and Monday morning saw
little
change in his pugnacious demeanor. A couple call-ins attempted to bring
up
the death wish comment and Barnard would suddenly say "oops...we lost
'em"
when it got to the point where the comment would likely have been
mentioned
on the air by the caller.

Time and again, one has to wonder how much longer we will have to put
up with
this man's anti-minority, anti-Democrat, anti-gay, anti-anyt
hing-Tom-doesn't-like rants on the KQ Morning Show. While we say YES to
freedom of speech, we must say NO to a lack of civilized decency,
common
courtesy and basic respect for other human beings!

Remember this by Tom Barnard, a darling of the Republican candidates
in Minnesota?

>From the CJ column in the strib:

"Sen. Paul Wellstone had only 39 days to live Sept. 17 when the local
radio bully told his listeners:"
"I hate that little [unprintable], and I hope he drops dead."

Did he apologize? Apparently not. Did Republicans rush to condemn
his remarks? No.

Have the right wingers on this list condemned it?
See my post

Yet, they feel compelled to pillory one young democrat for calling on
Republicans to vote for Wellstone, claiming this was extreme and
offensive.

Hmmmmm....
